Quintessential 80s art/rock film. The dialogue is stilted but the people are the real thing, so it works. Check out a long ago Manhattan filled with endless smoking, drinking, sneering and breaking up.

Post-punk, Andy Warhol, late-70's East Village NY, attractive French women... all wonderful in their own regard, just not made to be put together on film. The acting is terrible, but an hour and half is not bad to sit through in exchange for some amazing Richard Hell & The Voidoids performances and a short but poignant Andy Warhol interview.

A gem: I lived in Manhattan at the time and find the film highly evocative of the era. This film deserves a first-rate digital restoration if it hasn't had one.
Manages the impossible task of making the late-70's East Village era look boring.
