Bangkok's Too Much1975

  • 3.6
Should you really give up up a third-of-an-hour to some New York tourist's Thailand travelogue of more than forty years ago? If the tourist was Ephraim Horowitz, definitely. Though it requires some tolerance for an earlier generation's cultural insensitivities, the basic thesis of BANGKOK'S TOO MUCH remains sound. Arguably a worldview unto itself, Horowitz knows when to say nothing and just let the often extraordinary images flow. Witness also the process of becoming worldly: "This monkey made the mistake of biting the lady who, to his horror, promptly bit him back," Horowitz says at one point. "It just doesn't pay to start up with some people." - Jonathan Kiefer
