"In San Francisco's Mission District, on the Dia de los Muertos, I encounter the found footage filmmaker, Craig Baldwin. Over the past four decades, Baldwin's collage films have produced radical critiques of colonization in the Americas. Outside of Baldwin's subterranean film lab, I also observe a group of Mayan dancers during the Dia de los Muertos procession. By superimposing the dancers with Baldwin's own internal world, AZTEC BALDWIN COLLAGE meditates on the syncretic nature of art and culture in the 21st century." - Georg Koszulinski
