A communal house left in trust many years ago to provide art students support in the way of free housing, ART HOUSE has accumulated its share of legends, lore, art, art junk and a reputation for hard partying. When a university dean and an influential descendant of the original benefactor decide to turn the place into housing for varsity golf, the residents only chance of blocking the move is to prove their value and vitality as an artistic community. The burden is on art student Nora Ohr (Greta Gerwig), who is energetic, compassionate, but by no means perfect. Can the residents of ART HOUSE get their act together and make a name for themselves as artists before they're kicked out?

Thought it was awesome! Very funny, quirky, and interesting. Great cast of characters. Love the vibe of the Art House. And, of course, Greta Gerwig is awesome as usual. Watch it.

On a sidenote, the soundtrack is pretty awesome too. Man Man, Deastro, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, and a bunch of other cool indie bands.

A cute, decently produced film. Kind of the 21st century version of a John Cusack movie (I'm thinking One Crazy Summer) minus the surrealism. While there's nothing really outstanding about Art House, viewers should check it out for Greta Gerwig. She is always a pleasure to watch. She has such a genuineness to all her performances. It's fun watching her in a scene because she always seems to be on the edge of breaking character, but then she pulls it all together again. There's always a sweet naïveté to her characters...but a strength as well.

And let's face it...it's always nice to have Iggy Pop hanging around.

A bit lame, but interesting watching the evolution of Greta Gerwig who has become

a major Indie muse. She doesn't seem able to go beyond playing the arty misfit

ingenue, which she does exactly the same in every film of hers that I've seen. So it's

really about the cult of Greta.

That was such a stupid move, and yet I watched the whole thing. hm. oh the days of art school.

it's humbling to watch an interpretation of the specific culture you identify with.
