Act of Being Polite1980

  • 3.7
After gaining notoriety for their burn-it-down deconstructionist covers of popular hits (including songs by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and James Brown), the anonymous Residents produced their own insincere iteration of a Top 40 chart. The second of their "One Minute Movies," was ACT OF BEING POLITE, a hazy moment of relationship turmoil between a man and a woman with the iconic Residents eyeballs for heads. - Tom Fritsche

I am a long-time fan of The Residents! It's nice to see this on Fandor. This is one of The Residents' short films produced in conjunction with The Commercial Album, which is full of minute-long songs. Nice video, and a good introduction to their antics of the era.

Really humorous, and to the point. NIce to be introduced to some new to the Residents.

Somehow I missed the humor(?) of this very short film.

A minute of madness! This, along with The Residents' other sixty-second, mutated operettas, offer us a pre-MTV universe of visual and musical audacity!

You gotta love those Resident's visuals. Super short and surreal.

Not Bad

The Residents!

Interesting.
