A Night in a Dormitory1930
Top-billed Ginger Rogers, three years before her initial career-making teaming with Fred Astaire, was just dipping her tapping toes in the movies when she made this Pathé melody comedy. Having already conquered vaudeville and Broadway, she is introduced here under her own name as "our little star" to sing two nightclub numbers in a Betty Boop-like comic voice (and with brunette hair which she'd soon ditch for lighter shades). Framed as a story told by one co-ed to another, it has little to do with higher education and much to do with singing, dancing and joke-cracking. - Dennis Harvey

This is a delightful pre-code Pathe musical short from 1929 (not 1930) which has singing dancing and vaudeville comedy. I've seen many of the Warner ones but never this Pathe one. Highly entertaining. I wish Fandor offered more of these - only one I see on line now. The quality is more than acceptable for this period.
