On the anniversary of her father's death, a young girl spends the day celebrating his memory (and making sure she retains those memories) with her widowed mother. Writer/co-director Julie Gould and her daughter play themselves, more or less, in what is nonetheless not a documentary but a beautifully nuanced drama drawn from their real-life circumstances. 8 won a Grand Jury Prize at the 2011 South by Southwest Festival. - Dennis Harvey

really sweet & wonderful_Logan just amazing_a beautiful film_ 4 1/2
The acting was well done and I enjoyed the pace of the edit. There were some sounds in the beginning, when she opened the drawer, that I thought sounded like camera noises.
