Daniel Laabs has directed 5 short films. They have been awarded jury prizes at the SXSW Film Festival '8 in 2011), Dallas International Film Festival (EASY in 2014), and Dallas Videofest (sleet/snow in 2009). They have also shown at the Sarasota Film Festival, Maryland Film Festival, Starz Denver, New Orleans Film Festival and IndieMemphis. In 2011 he was a recipient of an Austin Film Society Grant and in 2013 he participated in the Austin Film Society Artist Intensive Workshop. He lives in Dallas, TX and works as a programmer for the Oak Cliff Film Festival and the Texas Theatre.
