Phyllis Somerville
Phyllis Somerville (born 1944) is an American stage, screen, and television actress. Her most prominent role to date was in 2006 as the mother of the sexual predator played by Jackie Earle Haley in Todd Field's Little Children. Somerville made her Broadway debut in the musical Over Here!, which starred Janie Sell, and the then-surviving Andrews Sisters (Maxene and Patty). Somerville has a long history of appearing both on and off-Broadway and outside New York; most recently in 2003 as "Emily Dickinson/Vera" in The Psychic Life of Savages, a play by Amy Freed (Yale Repertory Theater, New Haven, Connecticut).
