Maria Charles
Maria Charles (born 22 September 1929, London as Maria Zena Schneider ) is an English actress who carved a niche for herself on television playing clingy Jewish mothers. She appeared in the memorable Play for Today entry, "Bar Mitzvah Boy", and played Maureen Lipman's character's mother in the sitcom Agony. Charles appeared in the films Sisterhood and Hot Fuzz. Her other TV credits include: Z-Cars, Secret Army, Brideshead Revisited, Coronation Street, Whoops Apocalypse, Boon, Lovejoy, Casualty, Holby City and Bad Girls.
