Jonathan Harden

Jonathan Harden is an actor from Northern Ireland. A native of Belfast, Harden returned to acting after a varied career as director, producer and academic. He studied Drama and English at Queen's University Belfast, and completed an MA in European Literature and Culture, and then took up positions as Lecturer in Drama, first at University of Ulster (2005-2006) and then at Queen's University (2006-2009), publishing chapters in several books, reviewing for Irish Theatre Magazine, and most recently, teaching on an MA Theater program for New York University. He was a founder of the Belfast Theatre Company Sneaky Productions, along with Lisa McGee (Being Human, Raw) and Declan Feenan, and writer/actor BronĂ¡gh Taggart (whom he married in 2008), producing and directing several early plays by his colleagues, including McGee's Jump. Before leaving Belfast for London in 2009, he revived and was named Artistic Director of the Lyric Theatre Belfast's Drama Studio, a program which aimed to engage and develop emerging talent in the field of acting.
