"Peter Greenaway has the most inscrutable, brilliant and possibly deranged mind in modern cinema." - Desson Howe, Washington Post

A mocking parody of the fictional Institute of Reclamation and Restoration’s several attempts to reconstruct (Peter Greenaway alter-ego) Tulse Luper’s study of the aesthetic and ecological significance of various trees, posts and poles on the English landscape. Greenaway shows an innovative use of sound to image and a display of wit that mixes sensible nonsense and earnest understatement. VERTICAL FEATURES REMAKE also features an evocative score by Michael Nyman.

I am forever going to be re-assessing Vertical Features Remake (1, 2...). I swear Mr. Greenaway is having way too much fun with cinema.
