"Uniting Sacha Baron Cohen's daredevilry with Werner Herzog's bombast..." - Eric Hynes, Time Out New York

Winner of the World Cinema Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, Mads Brügger’s documentary follows a trio of Danish comedians as they pretend to be regime sympathizers and mount an absurd variety show in North Korea. Combining the muckracking spirit of Michael Moore with the confrontational comedy of Borat, THE RED CHAPEL is an unconventional, hilarious and damning peek into a totalitarian regime. Though the image quality leaves much to be desired (and despite our efforts to track down a source that would look somewhat better), the low-res look is relatively forgivable in the context of such an unusual documentary.

Absolutely beautiful, if slightly horrifying.
