Charlie (Charles Chaplin) is a property man in a vaudeville theatre who must contend with the many demands of the various acts. Rehearsal goes poorly, as does the first performance, and Charlie ends an argument by turning on the fire hose and deluging the entire company and the audience.

Not one of Chaplin's best, it seems as though he was still trying to refine "The Tramp" character.
