Map King (Gordon Lam) is a taxi driver who can get to any destination imaginable. One evening, he was dispatched to guide a cargo truck to a place where only he knows how to get to, the Moon and Sun Village. The remote village is known for the tragic accident of a widow named Fong (Michelle Ye), her chubby young son and a group of armed bandits who turn up at her inn seeking refuge after a bloody robbery.

There is some interesting material at the heart of this little film: a supernatural background that for all I know really comes from southern Chinese tradition, and a multiple-narratives plot that keeps us paying attention. The pacing is erratic and Fong's personality transformation in the third act isn't completely convincing, but the film comes to a reasonably satisfying conclusion.

I do wonder if more comfortable transportation wouldn't have been appropriate.
