THE FAMILY ALBUM is a one-hour experimental documentary utilizing a vast collection of rare 16mm home movies from the 1920s through the 1950s. These raw materials are woven into a composite lifetime, passing through the celebrations and struggles from childhood to adulthood, from innocence to experience. It is a universal yet intimate portrait of the American family, not scripted, not rehearsed, not immune to the conflicts and contradictions underlying family life and its rituals.

Confirmed what I've always believed, the secret to a long, happy marriage is compromise. Wonderful film.
I thought it was wonderful. I couldn't take my eyes away. Im 41 years old but I can relate back in those days because alot was the same. Gatherings, Outings, Bday party's, and just being happy. My dad carried a movie recorder around everywhere we went and we would all sit down as a family and watch what he recorded. Time goes by too fast...
