From director Cheang Pou-soi, comes this long-awaited and equally brutal live-action adaptation of the cult Japanese manga by Izo Hashimoto. Ryo Narushima (Shawn Yue) is a talented, college-bound student who suddenly snaps one day and murders both of his parents in cold blood. He is sent to a correctional institute where he trains under karate master Kenji Kurokawa (Francis Ng) and, upon his release, begins a new life as a lethal professional fighter. Co-starring Japanese kickboxer Masato and Bruce Liang from Stephen Chow's KUNG FU HUSTLE, SHAMO is a visual and ultra-violent cinematic tour-de-force with extreme fight scenes that are definitely not for the squeamish.
