I can't say enough about this fine and fascinating documentary. I knew little (almost zero) about Gould prior to watching this documentary. I was quickly swept up into a moving story about a brilliant and idiosyncratic artist whose genius both drew others to him and made him isolated all at once. In this respect, the documentary reaches outside of the life of Gould and explores the life of the preternaturally gifted artist. The film makes great use of his music and has a nice balance of examining art and personal life. I left with the film with a great appreciation of Gould and a deeper understanding of classical pianism.
