Directed by Robert Gaston, FLIGHT OF THE CARDINAL received the honor as the Closing Night Selection for Philadelphia’s 16th Annual Qfest (where Matthew Montgomery earned the "Artistic Achievement Award" for his fine performance). Since then, the film has played multiple film festivals around the nation. This tightly woven psychological thriller set in the desolate Smoky Mountains involves a volatile city boy, Grady (Ross Beschler), who becomes the proprietor of a resort lodge while a roguish young local, Beetle (David J. A very good film of psychological suspense in which the music choices are unexpected and therefore -excellent! However the ending was a bit rushed, and, unfortunately, 'happy'.
This was an interesting movie. A bit dragged out - but worth watching. There's even Re-incarnations
An incredible movie! One of the best I have ever seen. Was going to watch just a few minutes, but I was promptly immersed in the storyline and characters.
This is an odd movie. I thought the first half was pretty decent, then it seemed like an odd Horror/LGBT/Suspense mix. I really did not like any of the characters much, and the plot was very convoluted. I actually felt like the movie dragged in many places. the scenery was nice but no more than 1 1/2 stars tops. I would skip it.
Some parts of this movie was very well done. For example, back ground "music" was basically drums and/or various percussive sounds (do not think I have seen that before), low light shooting kept the staging of the scenes from being repetitious. The film was well cut and moved along nicely.
The multiple image at the beginning seems a little too tricky. The ending was way too tricky. How many security cameras were there, and how about the excellent audio on the security films, and how can you monitor so much security footage. Thus, the script was a little off-putting.
The film teetered on the edge of a fabulous character study that is well worth watching.
really bad! overacted, plot falls apart at end
if there were neagtive stars, this would get 10 except for the guy with the cute naked behind. really.
Good but amateur in a student film kind of way. Writing, directing,a nd acting. Missing too many elements but has potential.
Independent movie writing is all new to me., As I am learning . I wish there was more history written about the writes and producers of these independent films. I hope no one laughs at my reviews. I see a great many reviews written with depth about the producers of the films Independent film makers judging is something I need to learn . It sort of is like classical music . It takes time to learn the masters talents . I enjoyed this film. The writer used a great deal of social Psych , and Also used a great deal of Effort to show , How the human mind works to try to destroy others through deceit . In the end the , The person who tried to pull his friends together . Keep a Romance still going , And looking into a clouded past . In the end , ended up being alone when it was all said in done . Sort of like how the real world is. Only showed with great talent Through the skills of the actor. I hope my reviews get better . I am new at this , I am learning about the writers and producers. I would have to give 3 thumbs up to this movie it was very well written, projected , and the actors did a wonderful job . Howard Crowe Pittsburgh Pa.
