"Eccentricities" is well worth watching for de Oliveira's characteristic gripping mood and the simultaneously stodgy and exotic Lisbon setting. On reflection, the abrupt ending does make some sense, although whether its abruptness is fair to the viewer after the genteel pace of the rest of the film is a valid question.
More de Oliveira!
Not only did she steal the ring , she stole an hour of my life. Bad ending!!
