Wryly amusing, this romantic journey of sharp-edged nostalgia explores the world of Dorothy Sternen, a fallen cheerleader and a beauty queen. Trapped in her small town world of Cuba, Missouri, she is stuck in a nowhere relationship with her overbearing and sometimes violent boyfriend, Ezra Good. A one-time high school "all star" athlete, Good is now a full-time tow-truck driver who is bitter and angry that fate hasn't been kind to him. The only thing he has now is his high school sweetheart, Dorothy, with whom he has been in a relationship with for over ten years. But soon Dorothy's small town world turns upside down when a handsome stranger from her past re-enters her life. Despite the growing tension with her boyfriend, it isn't long before she looks for love and redemption in this stranger who has a mysterious past of his own.

I watched this in anticipation of seeing a LGBT movie, but was disappointed.
I cried. Just gonna throw that out there. There are a few moments and ideas in the film that I thought could have been developed further, but overall I really enjoyed this and thought it was beautiful.
